4th Grade Social Studies Salt-Dough Maps
All 4th Graders will be making the salt-dough Indiana maps tomorrow, Wednesday. Many students "volunteered" their parents to make a batch of salt-dough. In case you can't find the paper I sent home last week, the recipe is:
3/4 cup of flour
1/2 cup of salt
1 and 1/2 teaspoons vegetable oil
3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar (in the spice aisle)
1/2 cup boiling water
Combine the flour, salt, and cream of tartar in a bowl. Add the oil and boiling water. Mix the ingredients well. Store the dough in a Ziplock bag. Do not add any food coloring. Each recipe makes enough salt-dough for two Indiana maps.
