Storyteller study trip

We had a very entertaining trip to the Indiana Historical Society on Friday.  The two storytellers had several interesting stories, and even taught stories to the audience.  Be sure to ask your child to retell one of their stories.

Rectory renovation donations

Room 4 students contributed $30.50 toward the rectory renovations.  Several students were very generous!

Joyful Monday for 4th and 5th Grade

The 4th and 5th Grade will have their non-uniform day on Monday, instead of Friday.  We are going on a study trip Friday and students need to be in their school uniform.  We will not have PE on Friday because of the storyteller trip.

Storytelling trip permission slips due Wednesday

The permission slip and $8.00 fee for the storyteller study trip at the Indiana History Center are due on Wednesday, tomorrow.  I have given duplicate permission slips to the students who have not turned theirs in yet.  The trip is this Friday, 1/21/11.  Students will need to wear their school uniform.  We will eat lunch before leaving.

Save the date for BizTown

The 4th and 5th Graders will be participating in BizTown, an economics program sponsored by Junior Achievement on Monday, March 21st.  BizTown is a simulated city where the students will hold jobs for a day, participate in an election, learn the principles of banking, and learn to be a good citizen.
We will need parents to participate in the all-day study trip.  An hour of on-line training with Junior Achievement will be required if you have not previously participated in BizTown, as well as a current background check and Virtus training.
More information about being a volunteer for the day will be coming home soon.

Report cards, goals, and ISSP

I sent home a copy of each student's report card today.  We will be comparing the students' 2nd quarter goals and Individual Student Success Plan from conferences with their report card.  Many students did not return their goal paper and their ISSP after 1st quarter conferences.  Please check at home for these papers and return them to school as soon as possible.  The students will have to record their report card, Benchmark, and ISTEP scores again and  rewrite their goals if these papers are not found.
