Progress Reports on Friday

Each student received a copy of their progress report today.  Please ask to see it, and ask your child to account for their grades.

ISTEP update

We have one more ISTEP test to complete tomorrow.  There was a total of six tests: two Math, two Language Arts, and two Science tests for 4th Grade and two Social Studies tests for 5th Grade.

ISTEP Reminder

We are taking ISTEP tests each day this week.  Please have your child in school and on time.  Getting a good night's sleep and eating a nutritious breakfast are vital on testing days.

Rice bowls

Lenten rice bowls are due back this week.  Students should be contributing their money as a Lenten sacrifice.

ISTEP Alert!

The second portion of ISTEP will begin next week.  We will be testing on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: April 26-28. 
Please do not make appointment that will take your child out of school on testing days.

Special Person's Day Thanks

I am sorry I had to miss Special Person's Day.  I understand we had a full house for the activities.  Thanks to all of the students'  special people for taking the time to attend.

I will be attending the (NCTM) National Council of Teachers' of Mathmatics conference downtown on Thursday and Friday.  Mrs. Anne Frick will be subbing for me both days.
I will  read my email daily.

Special Person's Day reminder

Please send in the name of your child's special person as soon as possible.  Special Person's Day is this Thursday, April 14th.

Special Person's Day

The students brought home their invitation for their Special Person.  Please return the response by Monday, April 11th.  Please encourage your child to enter the PTO sponsored essay contest.  The prize is well worth the effort!

Family Connection homework

The lifeskill we are focusing on is Empathy.  The students brought home a Family Connection paper to do with parents.  This assignment is due on Wednesday, 4/06/11.

New family

We have a new student in 4th Grade starting today.  We are happy to welcome Araceli Rubalcava and her family to Holy Spirit School.

Ronald McDonald House and Rice Bowl donations

Thank you to everyone who sent in donations for our Lenten service project to benefit the Ronald McDonald House.  Anyone who has had a child in Riley Hospital knows the great work they do.

Lenten rice bowls will be collected during Holy Week.  All donations will benefit Catholic Relief Services.  Please encourage your child to put their own money in the rice bowl.
